SPRINGFIELD, VA— Interstate Worldwide Relocation Services and United Way have partnered their resources to support the Haitian relief efforts through the collection and transportation of basic medical supplies to Haitians in the aftermath of the January 12, 2010 earthquake. With relief drop off locations throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area, they are collecting basic medical supplies that include over the counter medications and bandages, as well as non perishable items such as; soy based formulas, diapers and other similar goods. All collected items are being consolidated at the Christian Relief Services regional facility in Fredericksburg, VA where final shipment preparation to Haiti will be completed.
Interstate President, Bud Morrissette, expressed Interstate’s commitment to this relief effort. “Interstate has always placed great emphasis in giving back to the community. Today, that sense of community has expanded to encompass a global reach. We are pleased to know that our efforts can bring support to those devastated by the recent earthquake.”
Additionally, in February, Interstate collaborated on a second relief effort with Operation Starfish, founded by the Church of the Nativity, combining their resources to collect and transport basic supplies to Haiti. The company supports multiple philanthropies and community organizations locally, nationally and internationally.
